Michael P. Palkhiwala is an associate at Velella & Basso and an experienced trial attorney. Mike represents clients in a variety of areas, including guardianships, trusts, probate, administration, will contests, kinships and criminal defense, before New York State Surrogate’s and Supreme Courts. As a former prosecutor and Deputy Bureau Chief for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, Mike successfully handled and supervised thousands of prosecutions and earned convictions in numerous violent felony trials.

Following his successful career at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office Mike accepted a role as a Senior Vice President with Citibank, N.A. where conducted global, long-term, large-scale, cross-sector money laundering investigations for the institution’s Global Investigations Unit. His experiences as a skilled trial attorney and experienced financial crimes investigator make him a formidable advocate who knows the criminal justice system inside and out, enabling him to provide aggressive and successful representation.
